The Independent National Electoral Commission on Monday stated that it had put in place security measures to protect members of the National Youth Service Corps to avoid a recurrence of the carnage that followed the 2011 election.
The commission which admitted that failure to commence elections at the stipulated time has been a major challenge stated that a lot of things were being done to address the logistic issues before the next general elections.
The Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, said these in his paper entitled: “The 2015 general elections: Conversations with Nigeria’s Female Stakeholders,” during a workshop organised by the Nigerian Women Trust Fund at The Electoral Institute, Abuja.
