The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Adamawa state Acting Governor, Hon. Ahmed Fintri, for his emergence as the party’s candidate for the October 11, 2014 governorship bye-election in the state.
The leadership also commended the other aspirants for their “rare show of the spirit of sportsmanship and unwavering commitment to the party throughout the nomination process, in keeping with the ideals of the PDP and the visions of the founding fathers.”
PDP National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh said in a statement on Monday that the party leadership is “satisfied with the level of camaraderie and sense of purpose that characterized the primary election” and praised the delegates and all major stakeholders in the state for the orderly manner with which they conducted themselves during the exercise.
The party attributed the success of the exercise to the “spirit of oneness within the fold in Adamawa state, effectively harnessed through the insistence by the national leadership on strict adherence to the tenets of internal democracy which provided accommodation for all in line with the ideology of the PDP and principles of fairness, justice and equity.”
The leadership therefore charged all its members in Adamawa to close ranks as one family and support the candidate to ensure the success of the party in the governorship election.
