Mr. Akin Dawodu has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Citi Nigeria.
Prior to his appointment, the new CEO was the Chief Operating Officer and Public Sector head, and an executive director for Citi Nigeria.
Dawodu’s appointment was approved by the board of directors of Citibank Nigeria Limited, Citi’s legal operating entity in the country. His appointment has also been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
He replaces Omar Hafeez who was the MD/CEO of Citi Nigeria for three years.
Omar has moved on to the North America Global Subsidiary Group (GSG) of Citibank in New York and will have leadership responsibility for Citi’s GSG franchises in the US and Canada.
Citi Nigeria offers a broad range of services, including transaction banking, sales and trading, corporate finance and investment banking for corporates, financial institutions and public sector organisations.
