As part of his plans to reduce the cost of governance, Muhammadu Buhari may appoint only 19 ministers.
A report by THE GUARDIAN stated that the President-elect is planning to retain only 19 ministries from the present 31. Most of the candidates being considered for the federal executive council (FEC) will end up as ministers of state, after all.
The reduction in number of ministers will be in line with policy advisory committee's recommendation that the incoming government reduce the number of the ministries to about twenty in order to reduce the high cost of governance.
