Several clashes between farmers and cattle grazers in Mboi, a village located in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State causing several dead and hundreds of families displaced during the unrest.

According to eyewitness reports from villagers, the clash occurred as a result of a disagreement between the farmers and grazers when the herdsmen were accused of deliberately allowing their herd to destroy yet to be harvested crops from the farmers’ land. The herdsmen regrouped after both parties came to blows over the issue, and attacked the village where the farmers lived at night where hundreds of houses and property were destroyed in the process.

Though Adamawa state is also under the emergency rule as are Borno and Yobe States, it was discovered through eyewitness reports the herdsmen were armed and openly attacked the village without fear of being stopped or beaten back.
