Yet again Lionel Messi has erased the record books as he is now the highest goalscorer in Champions League history with 74 goals.
It has been quite a memorable week for the Argentine who only last Saturday became the Spanish La Liga all-time highest goalscorer.
This time, Messi surpassed Raul's 71 goals in the competition, netting a hat-trick in their win over Apoel Nicosia which increased his tally to 74 goals in the competition.
Messi found his three goals for Barcelona after Luis Suarez opened the scores for Barcelona, his first goal for the club.
Meanwhile in Germany, Chelsea produced a masterclass performance in their 5-0 routing of Schalke 04.
It was a game that centred on Roberto Di Matteo having a point to prove against his former employers. Rather it was Chelsea who had the last laugh with their defeat of the Germans.
Chelsea dominated from start to finish, recording their best win in Europe since they beat Galatasaray in 1999.
Chelsea's good start in the game made the difference for the team as John Terry's first minute goal gave the Blues the lead.
Further goals from Willian, and an own goal from Kirchoff made sure Chelsea went into the break with an unassailable lead.
Didier Drogba came in as a substitute to net the fourth goal, with Ramires scoring the fifth goal .
Drogba's goal was his 50th in Europe, making him the first African to attain such landmark .
In the fairy-tale story of the night, Manchester City left it very late to defeat 10-man Bayern Munich 3-2 at the Etihad stadium.
All thanks to Sergio Aguero who bagged a hat-trick, scoring two late goals that saw them come very close of losing the match, to turn it into victory.
City seemed like they had things their way when Bayern were reduced to 10-men following Benatia's red card, but the German side turned it around and led with 2-1 from the first half until the 85th minute.
It was from then that Aguero produced his magic and scored two late goals that won the match for Manuel Pellegrini's team.
The win has now strengthened's City's bid to secure qualification into the next round of the competition.
