Sports CHAN 2016 qualifiers: Home Based Eagles to face Burkina Faso

The Home-Based Super Eagles have been drawn against the Stallions of Burkina Faso for their 2016 African Nations Championship, Chan qualifiers which will be staged in Rwanda next year.

Nigeria, who won bronze in their first appearance of the championship which was staged in south Africa in 2014 will be looking forward to appear again and beat the record the Stephen Keshi's men set in the last edition.

Caf explained that "the draw was done based on the zonal representation of the National Associations affiliated."

Nigeria are one of the three seeded countries in Zone B of the qualification alongside Ghana and Niger Republic while Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Togo are unseeded.

The first leg between the Super Eagles and their Burkina Faso counterparts will hold in Nigeria on the weekend of October 16, 17 or 18 this year, while the second leg comes up one week later.

The Chan is a tournament for players based in their country's domestic league and 42 teams will take part in the qualification for the 2016 edition that will produce 15 qualifiers. supersport
