Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo Waziri is the newly elected National Youth Leader of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). In this interview, he bares his mind on the controversy about his age, his plans for the youths among other issues. Excerpts:

Your emergence as the national youth leader of APC was not without controversy, what do you think is responsible for this?
Yes, of course, opposition is responsible for it because if you look at the manner and the angle it is coming, it is basically from the PDP, look at the social media; the twitter, facebook and the rest, you will realise that the source is the party in government. Even the picture they put there and the twitter handle they are using called Dr. Ibrahim Jalo, I think it is a kind of calculated attempt to discredit the process and the recent APC convention and I can see that they have nothing to say that is why they are looking at some of these issues to talk about.

I also want to put it on record that all the years they are calling 49, 52 and 53, are all lies about me, I was born in 1971, and basically, I am 43 this year. So, if you look at the argument they are bringing out, it is not something that contravenes the APC laws, because what they are saying is the law which was amended during the convention which stated that a youth should be between the ages of 18 and 40 years, but it did not say a youth leader should not be somebody over 40 years.
