Prof. Tam David-West, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, has cautioned Senator Iyiola Omisore not to challenge his defeat in the last Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State; The Sun reported.

David-West stated that the result of the election was a true reflection of the "voice of the people is the voice of God".

"Going to the tribunal is a waste of time. The election was so clear and non-controversial. He (Omisore) should be gallant in defeat. The best thing to do is to do what Governor Kayode Fayemi did by accepting what happened.

"My advice to him and his party is: ‘don’t go to tribunal’. I am not expecting him to congratulate the governor but he should accept the voice of the people. His going to tribunal will jeopardise his next chance".

"The victory of the APC in Osun State is a sounding victory not only for the governor and his party but victory for Nigerians and democracy in the country. In Osun State, the voice of the people translates to the voice of God. Osun State has shown that no one can drown the voice of the people with all the guns in the world. Unlike Ekiti election, which was an aberration, Osun election has shown that you cannot destroy the voice of the people with guns", David-West added.
