The strike action embarked on by Ekiti state workers will continue as the meeting between labour unions and governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday ended in a deadlock.

According to a DailyPost report, disputes that led to the ongoing strike couldn't be resolved by both parties. Reports say Fayose appealed to the workers to shelve the strike in the interest of the state.

However, the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Raymond Adesanmi, said the strike would continue. According to him, the meeting failed to resolve the contending issues.

“The governor listened to us and promised to get back to us. We are also going to have our own meeting on Wednesday to review the situation, but the strike continues. It is either three months salary or no talk”, he declared.
