The commencement of electronic medical records for people living with HIV/AIDS has been reported to be introduced in the nearest future by the government of Gombe State in other to enable ease of accessibility of the medical records and care of people living with this disease.

Dr. Kennedy Ishaya, the State’s Commissioner of Health disclosed this information to the press in honour of the World AIDS Day, saying that each user would have electronic records with mobile numbers attached so when a caller would contact the toll line for information needed, they would easily access such information and prescription would be provided to clients when required by a medical professional.

He also added that this would also reduce the rate of stigmatisation in the state and subsequently, the nation, if this example is followed by all states of the federation.
