Ms Hau Jianhui, the Vice Governor of Anhui Province in China, when she hosted a team of African journalists who were on tour in the country on Thursday, urged African leaders to embark on projects that would be beneficial to their people.
She said some of the security challenges facing many African countries could have been averted if leaders of those countries had committed themselves to fairness and equity in running the affairs of their states.
"There should be justice and fairness. The people should benefit from the wealth of the nation. Governments should always strive to bring comfort to their people," she said.
She also added that although African leaders had done a lot to promote good governance on the continent, a lot more still needed to be done to ensure that the people felt the impact of good governance.
She then urged African leaders to take advantage of their countries' political experiences to build a continent devoid of rancour and insecurity.
