Sports FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup: We will do well in Costa Rica- Flamingoes coach

Coach of Nigeria's under 17 Women's team Bala Nkiyu is confident the Flamingoes will give a good account of themselves at the FIFA under 17 World Cup in Costa Rica.

Though Nkiyu admitted that they are not yet fully ready for the tournament, the coach was optimistic that they will be in a month's time.

“Well all the other qualifying teams are also preparing and anyone who can stand up and beat his chest now that his team is ready maybe making a mistake” the coach said on local radio station Brila FM.

"We equally are preparing for the tournament in Costa Rica with the players just two-weeks old in camp but I can guarantee that in the next one month, the team will be better than what we have on ground right now."

The Flamingoes qualified for the under 17 championship without even kicking a ball following the withdrawal of their opponents from the qualifiers.

Three African countries: Ghana,Nigeria and Zambia will be flying the continent's flag at the World Cup which starts in March 15 to April 4.
