Mustafa Bello, a former minister of commerce has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that Bello's defection letter dated April 12 with reference number MB/12042015@1644 was sent to the PDP Chairman in Kontagora LGA and the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Niger State Chapter.
In the letter, Bello said he was defecting to the APC for ''purely personal reasons''. Though he didn't state the reasons there are speculations that Bello defected because his cousin's son,Abubakar Bello won the governorship election in Niger State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
