Governor Nasir El Rufai has condemned suspected herdsmen's attack in Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Angwan Anjo communities in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna state.
According to reports the suspected herdsmen attacked the communities for days, burning over 2000 houses and killing 11 people.
The Kaduna government said soldiers and policemen have been deployed to the area to protect citizens from further attacks.
“The government has directed relevant officials to take over the treatment of all those who were wounded. The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is also mobilizing relief materials to the affected communities and persons, and will be taking an inventory of damage in the affected communities," the statement said.
“In this sad moment, the government requests that all residents of the state demonstrate solidarity, share each other’s pains," it added.
