Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has directed caretaker committee chairmen in the 27 Local Government Areas to allocate land to 1,545 corps members deployed to the state to enhance agricultural production.
Okorocha gave the directive at the opening of orientation for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ corps members posted to the state at Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre council on Monday.
He stressed the state's determination to identify with the laudable agricultural policy of the Federal Government to tackle the nation's problem of food insufficiency.
Represented by Deputy Governor Eze Madumere, the governor advised the corps members to pay serious attention to all programmes lined up for them during the orientation.
While congratulating them for their achievements, he urged them to discharge their duties diligently in their various places of assignment.
