Politics Insecurity: Nasarawa Gov,President Jonathan to Hold Private Security Meeting

Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al-makura is billed for a private security meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan. The meeting is expected to find lasting solution to the recurring crisis in the state.

Nasarawa state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, announced this on Sunday, shortly after an emergency security meeting held at Government House in Lafia.

Idris explained that it has become imperative for the governor to meet with the president to highlight the security challenges facing the state.

He said that though security operatives in the state were on top of the situation, the assistance of the Federal Government was required to tackle the situation.

The commissioner said that five people lost their lives in the crisis which occurred on Saturday in Iggah, Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state.

He said that a team of security personnel had been drafted to the troubled area, adding that normalcy had since returned to the area.

The heads of the all the security agencies in Nasarawa state attended the emergency meeting.
