Nigeria - The Republic of Iran has signified interest to increase its trade volume with Nigeria from the present $50 million to $500 million, ThisDay reports.
Organisers of the Iran Solo Exhibition have concluded plan to hold an exhibition event in Lagos scheduled from 9th to 11th of June 2015.
"More than 40 companies will participate in this exhibition. We have companies in the sectors of Sanitary products, building materials, auto industry, helicopter manufacture, oil and petroleum. Others are, pharmarceutical, food and beverages, cement, energy, water, tire products among others," Iran’s envoy in Nigeria, Ambassador Saeed Koozechi, says.
Iran, according to him, generates over 70,000 megawatts of electricity, as well as 70 million metric tonnes of iron and steel and most of the companies that drive all these would be in Nigeria for the exhibition.
The Iranian government believes that if both countries properly harness the opportunities that exist between them in sectors such as health, agriculture, power, the volume and value of trade between both countries would rise significantly.
