A statement from the Ivorian legislature on Friday quoted the President of the Ivorian National Assembly, Mr Guillaume Soro, at the ceremony marking the end of the 2013 regular session of the assembly, as saying that the legislature enacted 41 laws during the 2013 parliamentary year.
He said that the performance of the legislature in 2013 was due to the commitment of members to enact laws that would promote good governance.
Soro also recalled that the assembly enacted 23 laws in 2012, saying, ``this is to me a remarkable achievement, an achievement borne out of the commitment to serve. ``This is about 78 per cent improvement on our performance in the previous year, I am convinced that we will do better in the days ahead,’’ he said.
He promised that the current national assembly would continue to enact laws that would trigger positive impact on the economy.
