Come January 2014, the Lagos Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) will receive a 70-tonne towing truck from the World Bank to facilitate traffic management.
Mr Chidi Nkwonta, Lagos Sector commander told newsmen that the towing truck would be the biggest in Nigeria.
"It is brand new equipment given to us by the World Bank, and I am sure that as soon as it comes, we won’t have problems of towing again.
"That truck can carry a fully loaded tanker and lift it; it can carry a trailer, and that is exactly what we need in Lagos", Nkwonta said.
The FRSC is urging drivers to avoid speeding and dangerous overtaking especially during festive seasons.
