Nigeria, touted as the "Giant of Africa", had a disappointing year going by the number of categories the country won at the 2015 Glo CAF awards held in Abuja on Thursday.
Nigeria didn't win the Player of the year award (haven't won in the past 5 years) as Gabon's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang clinched the title - Yaya Toure didn't win it this year. Also, no Nigerian made the first XI of the team of the year award.
However, the country won the following categories (out of about 10 categories):
YOUTH PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Victor OSIMHEN (Nigeria)
MOST PROMISING TALENT OF THE YEAR - Etebo Peter OGHENEKARO (Nigeria)
Also, Azubuike OKECHUKWU (Nigeria), Kelechi NWAKALI (Nigeria) and Victor OSIMHEN (Nigeria) made the substitute bench in the team of the year.
