The Chairman of the League Management Company, Shehu Dikko, has revealed that the Nigeria Professional Football League, 2016/2017 season will be start in the first week of December.
There was rumour of December 4 starting date for the new season and Dikko has said the plan to start the league in December was to allow the teams playing on the continent to prepare for the competition.
He stated further that the target for the new season was to improve on the achievements of the last season and also to take the league to another level.
“We want to start so as to allow our clubs playing on the continent to be in a competition mood,” he told New Telegraph.
