The Chairman, Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), Dr Abdullahi Modibbo, at a sensitisation workshop for officials of the commission on Thursday in Lafia has warned electoral officers against displaying political sentiments during the forth coming local council poll in the state.

He said that the neutrality of the electoral officers was key to the credibility of the poll, adding that the commission was determined ``to get it right by conducting acceptable local government elections in the state''.

``By next week, we are going to start recruiting adhoc staff for the elections.

``We are going to organise training for them so that they can be conversant with the electoral laws and the procedures of conducting elections.

``We will work hard to conduct a free and fair elections that will be worthy of emulation in other states of the country,'' he said.

According to Modibbo, about 4,000 ad hoc staff will be recruited for the local government elections in the state slated for March 22, this year.
