Politics Nigeria: Amaechi Says Buhari Can End Insurgency

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state, director general of Buhari Campaign Organisation has said that Muhammad Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC can end insurgency if elected President.

As the nation suffers the pains inflicted by insurgency daily, the director general of Buhari Campaign Organisation, Governor Rotimi Amaechi has said that the country needs a strong-willed leader like General Muhammadu Buhari urgently to contain terrorism in the country.

Amaechi who stated this at an interactive session with journalists in Lagos said when Chadian rebels invaded Borno State in the past, it was Buhari that chased them away, saying it takes a strong leader to achieve such security feat.

He said, “How many Nigerians remember that Buhari is a strong leader? You need a strong leader to chase away Boko Haram or Boko Haram will chase us away. There are reports that 32 persons have been killed in Bauchi and Gombe, so you need a Buhari to actually fight the insurgents.

“The attitude of the federal government that it is a northern business is bad. Let them go there. It may not be what they intend but that is the way people read it. Whether people say it or not, you will see clearly that the federal government has not done well enough in the area of insurgency.

What is Amaechi insinuating? I've said it, APC is capitalizing on insurgency to campaign. Have they forgotten that insurgency skyrocketed after the same Buhari lost his election bid and said he will make the country ungovernable? Oh... May be they want us to really think Buhari truly holds the key of Boko Haram as some people have been saying such that he can turn it on or turn it off as he wills. Let APC find something else to say, otherwise...

We are giving the politicians more credit than they deserve. Most of them could not organise a school assembly. Boko Haram is an out of control terrorist group causing chaos in northern nigeria. Maybe some misguided politician thought they could use it to their advantage but now they have no control at all.

Now even the international community are also playing politics with our future as well...just like they have done with Eygpt, Libya and others
