According to a report by Mail & Guardian Africa, Nigeria has the highest number of active Facebook users in Africa, with 15 million users.
The report has it that more than a quarter of Africa's total Facebook users is in Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya. South Africa has 12 million users and Kenya has 4.5 million users. Most of these users access Facebook from their mobile devices.
Daily users according to Facebook are 2.2 million in Kenya, 7.1 million in Nigeria and 12 million in South Africa.
Since Facebook opened its first African office in Johannesburg, South Africa early this year, its users have grown from 100 million in September 2014 to 120 million in June 2015.
