A federal high court located in Lagos has fixed September 30, 2014 for judgment in a suit brought to it by impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako who is seeking reinstatement. DAILY INDEPENDENT has this story.
A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Thursday, fixed September 30, 2014 for judgment in a suit filed by a Lagos lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, seeking an order reinstating the impeached Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako.
Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed October 11, 2014 for the gubernatorial by-election in the state.
But Justice Okon Abang, on Thursday, fixed the judgment date after entertaining arguments from parties on the legality of the suit. The defendants in the suit are contesting the grounds upon which the suit was hinged, and urged Justice Abang to dismiss it with substantial cost.
