The Presidential Election Petition Court commenced proceedings for the highly anticipated judgment on petitions filed by the PDP, Labour Party, and the Allied Peoples Movement, challenging the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The judges took their seats at approximately 9:34 am, initiating the proceedings with introductory formalities.
Representatives from the involved political parties introduced themselves during the proceedings. Notable figures in attendance at the court included Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors from Kogi, Nasarawa, Imo, Ekiti, Yobe, and Bauchi states. Also present were Chief of Staff to the President, Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.
However, absent from the court were PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar and Labour candidate Peter Obi. In their place, Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure and activist Aisha Yesufu were in attendance.
This marked a significant moment as the court's judgment would determine the fate of the 2023 presidential election, with the absence of key candidates adding intrigue to the proceedings. The nation and political observers eagerly await the court's decision
