The AD governorship candidate in forthcoming Ondo state elections, Chief Olusola Oke, has denied reports that he was on Friday arrested by Nigerian security authorities.

The report of his arrest was the championed by of his political detractors, particularly the Ondo state PDP chapter, in a bid to tarnish his image, he said in a statement by his spokesman Kolawole Olabisi.

“The PDP resolved to peddle the rumour of Oke’s arrest and use the social media to circulate it, as a result of the indefinite adjournment given by the Court of Appeal in Abuja," he said.

“The PDP led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko is afraid of Olusola Oke, especially with the court decision which did not favour them, hence the baseless rumour.”
