Nigeria's Sports minister Tamuno Danagogo has said that the decision to keep Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles rests solely with the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF).

Keshi's position is still not clear, especially with the ongoing crisis that has engulfed the NFF not making it easy for his future to be sorted out.

The 52-year old resigned from his post after the World Cup,citing the non-renewal of his contract and the bad working conditions with his employers as the reasons for his resignation.

Speaking on a radio programme monitored in Abuja on Thursday,Danagogo said only the NFF will decide if they still want to keep Keshi, adding that the National Sports Commission(NSC) will not influence their decision.

“My own role (as regards Keshi’s contract) will be advisory. It will be the NFF and the technical committee who will decide on Keshi,” Danagogo said .

When talks about Keshi's resignation came up,the sports minister was believed to have mandated the NFF to renew his contract, but no new agreement has been reached between both parties.
