Sports Unstoppable Bayern Munich beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates

Arsenal's UEFA Champions League hopes seems to have come to end after suffering a 0-2 loss at home to the defending champions Bayern Munich.

Goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller helped Bayern beat a 10-man Arsenal team at the Emirates stadium.

It was an enthralling game between the Gunners and the Die Roten, with the match played at such a frenetic pace, especially in the first half.

Both teams played an electrifying game and it wasn't long before Kross came close to reigniting what he did last year at the Emirates.

His long rage stinging shot was nicely saved and punched out by Wojciech Szczesny.

But Arsenal got in their stride and was close to finding an opening, with their attackers all making swift movements that looked threatening.

Yaya Sanogo who was a surprise inclusion in the starting line up,came close to scoring forcing Manuel Neuer to make a timely save.

Arsenal got a break to score a goal after Jerome Boateng clattered into Mesuit Ozil in the box, giving away a penalty.

But Ozil's tame kick down the middle was punched away by his childhood friend,Neuer. The miss somehow affected Arsenal who went down one gear, first they were forced into an early change following an injury on Kieran Gibbs.

The complexity of the game changed after Arsenal was reduced to ten men.
Goalkeeper Szczesny was shown a red card after a foul on Arjen Robben in the box. However David Alaba missed the resulting kick that went inches wide, having sent substitute goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski the wrong way.

With ten men on the pitch,Arsenal held on going into the break but capitulated at the start of the second half.

Toni Kroos started a move close to Arsenal's final third passing the ball to Phillip Lahm, who held the ball for a while before returning a pass to him. The unmarked Kroos belted in a curling shot that found its way past Fabianski for the opening goal in the 54th minute.

Bayern having breached Arsenal controlled the game and camped in the half of Arsene Wenger's team.

Robben and Mario Goetze all came close, with Arsenal hardly crossing their own half to trouble Bayern.

However Bayern made the result more daunting when in the final minutes of the game, substitute Thomas Muller headed down Lahm's cross beyond Fabianski for 2-0 giving his side a huge advantage going into the return leg.

Bayern for the second consecutive year have a two-goal advantage going into the second leg at the Allianz Arena against Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger and his troops would know that they have a massive job on their hands,of doing the unthinkable in getting a result in Germany.
