Western Union Company launches receive-enabled website to ease fund transfer

The Western Union Company have launched a receive-enabled website which allows Western Union Money Transfer divert their transfers directly into their personal accounts.

According to the Western Union Regional Vice President for Africa, Aida Diarra explained that the evolution of the website was to support the Central Bank of Nigeria's quest to provide good services for Nigerians at all times.

Western Union already has about 5,000 retail outlets where Nigerians can receive money from over 200 countries, adding that they are poised to providing the best services for their clients in Nigeria at all times.

The Regional Vice President for Africa, Western Union, Aida Diarra, stated, “We are happy to announce that Western Union services in Nigeria are continuing to evolve in keeping with the changing needs of consumers. Additionally, by pioneering a new digital channel through our website, Western Union is supporting the Central Bank of Nigeria’s objective of providing modern and efficient payment systems for consumers in Nigeria”.

Also, the senior vice president and general manager, Western Union Digital, Khalid Fellahi said that the website will afford their customers speedy quality self services globally.

“Western Union is growing its network and increasing consumer access to our services worldwide,” said Khalid Fellahi, senior vice president and general manager, Western Union Digital.

“The launch supports our global retail Agent network, and is part of Western Union’s multi-channel consumer experience, which is a differentiator in today’s money transfer marketplace.”

The senior vice president and manager said that the online services were launched in Nigeria in collaboration with Interswitch Limited to ensure that their clients have access to the best service in the area of money transfer.

Mr Fellahi added that, “Western Union will continue to explore opportunities that facilitate financial inclusion and increase speed to market for new money transfer services in key regions around the world.”
