The hope of getting appointments into plum Federal Government offices by loyalists of former president Olusegun Obasanjo may have been dashed, as the presidency finally draws the battle line.
Sunday Sun learnt that the Presidency believes that it would be political suicide to allow the former president have a free rein in government due to frosty relationship between both leaders. Jonathan and Obasanjo’s relationship has been at its lowest ebb in recent times.
This, it was learnt, was one of the reasons Obasanjo did not have a candidate among the new ministers sworn-in last Wednesday.
It was the first time that the former president would not have a say in the choice of ministers in Jonathan’s presidency.
