The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State has expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court verdict that validated the mandate of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as the governor of the state, DailyTrust reports.
The party described the judgment as a “gang up between the PDP and those that hold the country to ransom.”
The state party chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, made the party’s position known yesterday while addressing a cross- section of journalists.
“As a party, we are very disappointed with the outcome of the case because it did not reflect what happened during the election held in April 2015 in the state. The governorship election was won by Dr. Alex Otti; there was no dispute about that and we expected the Supreme Court to be more passionate in looking at some facts in the Appeal Court judgment that gave victory to our candidate, but the apex court acted otherwise.”
Meawhile, Governor Ikpeazu has described his victory at the apex court as an impetus for more work and more services to the people of Abia State and Nigeria.
