Alhaji Kawu Baraje, a former acting National Chairman of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP on Sunday has urged Nigerian leaders to always fulfil their promises as done by Prophet Ibrahim.
He gave the charge in his Eid-el-Kabir message made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in IIorin.
He blamed the challenges facing Nigeria on the failure of Nigerians, particularly the political elite, to fulfil their electoral promises.
He also urged leaders to reflect on the patience, steadfastness and commitment of Prophet Ibrahim despite his travails, adding that Nigerians must be more committed to nation building and national unity.
He congratulated Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir and urged them to pray for those performing the Hajj.
In his own message, a member of the House of Representatives, Dr Ali Ahmad, urged Muslims to use the period to pray for the restoration of peace in the country.
