Bill Cosby, for the second time, has been accused of sexual assault.
A woman, Barbara Bowman has accused the The Cosby Show actor of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager. She has accused him of using his position of power of manipulating and coercing her in her early career as an actress.
His spokesperson was unavailable for comments. Mr Cosby has been accused of something similar in the past, and his attorney described the charges as 'preposterous' and 'bizarre.'
“I was drugged and raped by that man,” Bowman told MailOnline. “He is a monster. He came at me like a monster. My hope is that others who have experienced sexual abuse will not be intimidated into silence by the famous, rich and powerful. If I can help one victim, then I've done my job.”
She said she first met him when she was 17 through a meeting her agent set her up for. She said Cosby at the time served as her mentor, and he encouraged her to regard him as a father figure even as he flew her round the US to enhance her career.
“He told me over and over again, ‘Trust me like I was your father.’ He zeroed in on that like a laser beam,” she says.
“He knew I had no father figure in my life. He knew that. yes, I was an independent girl, but he knew I was vulnerable and alone inside. He coerced and manipulated me into trusting him. He insisted I give into him 100 percent.”
