The Nigerian government has paid N60m as compensation to people whose lands were used for the construction of a helipad for President Muhammadu Buhari in his home town in Daura, Kastina state.
Speaking at the presentation of cash and cheques to the beneficiaries at the weekend, the Secretary to the State Government, Mustapha Inuwa, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands and Survey, Salihu Rimi, said standard procedures were followed in the payment and to ascertain the true owners of the land; DAILY TRUST reports.
Over four hectares of land was used for the helipad.
