Mr Kpufman Migagan, the leader of Igbudu Market vigilance group in Warri was shot dead on Monday by gunmen in Otokutu junction, Ughelli-South Local Government Area of Delta state.
Migagan was killed barely five days after Mr Proper Erhinyojare, Chairman of Udu Vigilance Group, was killed by yet to be identified assailants at Udu, near Warri.
The suspected assailants shot Migagan in a Toyota Siena bus conveying him and his members to Warri.
An anonymous source who narrated the incident to newsmen said, there was exchange of gunshots during which Migagan was killed.
"One of the assailants also died in the gun duel" the source said.
CSP Celestina Kalu, Delta Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed the incident.
"The vigilance group leader was killed on the DSC expressway in Ughelli-South Local Government Area. One of the assailants also died on the spot. Their corpses have been deposited at a morgue in Udu’’, she said, adding that the police would open investigation into the incident.
