According to news.com.au, 48-year-old Eric Brandon has been sentenced to life in jail for murdering his 16-year-old stepson Alex Koser, because he played video games 'too loudly'.
Brandon reportedly fired three shots at Koser, killing him in February last year in Milton, Georgia.
Koser and a friend were playing video games one Sunday afternoon when Brandon asked them to keep it down. When the boys continued to play loudly, Brandon retrieved his shotgun and opened fire on his stepson when went into the kitchen to make a snack.
The former US soldier and peacekeeper then called 911 and told emergency workers he had killed his stepson. Koser was reported dead at the scene. His mother was out shopping for groceries at the time of the murder.
When cops arrived on the scene, Brandon boasted about killing his stepson and told police he hoped the boy was dead, 11alive.com reports.
Brandon was sentenced to life in prison plus five years after being convicted of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm. . The jury took just 25 minutes to find him guilty on all counts, reports 11alive.com.
