Nigeria - The Peoples Democratic Party has vowed to challenge the outcome of the March 28 presidential election at the election petitions tribunal, Punch reports.

Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.)‎ of the All Progressives Congress was yesterday declared the winner of the election, beating Goodluck Jonathan by 2 million votes.

However, Bello Fadile, the PDP agent at the National Collation Centre in Abuja on Wednesday refused to sign the result sheet despite its candidate, Jonathan, having earlier conceded defeat.

“Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it, does not make any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result‎. When we go to court, then we can challenge the result,” Fadile said.

“The result was declared on the 1st of April, I think. We will follow the due process. Like the president (Jonathan) said, ‘If you have any grievances, follow due process and the due process in this instance is to go to the tribunal.

But GEJ will be president come May 29 [USERGROUP=4]@Senior Curators[/USERGROUP] - then like in previous years the party will spend the time in court rather than being a proper opposition. They will then come together just in time for 2019 elections.

They want to go and dispute the issue of underage voting in the North? I don't think anything will come out of it. I have often thought that we have two constitutions in Nigeria; one for Nigerians and one for the Northerners. In the North, there are many Nigerian rules that doesn't follow. A taxi cab driver can park four people at the back seat and two people in the front seat and drive majestically pass a road safety corp without being stopped.
