Some Nigerian governors, mainly G-5 governors are reportedly involved in a thick plot to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan. The governors fingered in the move include Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kwara state Deputy Governor, Elder Peter Kisra and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state.

The governors allegedly held a meeting last night at the Kano state Governors lodge to appraise the political situation in the country. Those present at the meeting include former head of state, General Mohammadu Buhari, former Lagos state governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state,Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lai Mohammed and former EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.

The impeachment move is said to be a way of countering the Peoples Democratic Party's legal action against the G-5 governors who recently defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC. The APC's National executive Committee is scheduled to meet today.
