Nigeria - Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday survived a sack threat at the party’s first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja following the party’s passing of a vote of confidence on him.
Oyegun had been under fire from party members to resign over allegations that he took bribe to install the leadership of the 8th National Assembly, despite his denial of same.
However, APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, speaking after the meeting said the party had passed a vote of confidence on Oyegun.
“The National Legal Adviser of APC came to seek the approval of NEC as to certain categories of members who should be members of the Board of Trustees.
“The approval motion was moved and it was unanimously adopted, subsequently, the NEC and the governors passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the party.’’
