The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, has tutored the former Lagos State governor, and APC Party Leaders Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on how to remove a party's chairman.

Oyegun said this while addressing State House correspondents on Tuesday shortly after meeting behind closed-doors with President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said the procedure for removing a party’s national chairman is spelt out in the constitution and does not happen on the pages of the newspapers.

“The method of getting rid of a national chairman (of a party), if that is what I will call it, are spelt out in the constitution, they don’t take place on the pages of newspapers,” he said.

On whether he would make a u-turn on the primaries since its generating controversies, he said it is only the Independent National Electoral Commission that could do so.

Oyegun, however, stressed that he had no rift with Tinubu, saying what happened between them was just a difference of opinion and perception.

Recall that Asiwaju Tinubu had called for his resignation over the Ondo state gubernatorial primaries.
