A member of the 2015 PDP presidential campaign committee from Kano State, Malam Abdullahi Ali Kano, has faulted the decision taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to zone the position of the party’s national chairman to the North.
He also faulted the party’s decision for ceding the right to produce the party’s 2019 presidential candidate to the North.
Kano said the decisions showed that the handlers of the PDP have deliberately refused to learn from history.
He said the PDP woefully failed in 2015 because of “supremacy of impunity.”
He said zoning of the two key positions to the North confirmed that the party was still towing the path of impunity.
He called on the party’s national executive council to revisit the decisions.
He said: “The PDP had started regaining its lost confidence from the electorates. But, with what we are witnessing recently, the forthcoming convention will do more harm than good to the party.”
