Real Madrid players, unsurprisingly constitute half of the team of the tournament for the recently concluded 2016/17 season of the UEFA Champions League.
Of the 18 players included in the squad, eight are from the Real, who became the first team to defend their Champions League title this week.
See list of players below:
The goalkeepers for the tournament are Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak and runners-up Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon.
Gianluigi Buffon and Jan Oblak were chosen as the ideal goalkeepers in a blend of experience and youth.
The defensive line is comprised of Juventus' Leonardo Bonucci, Atletico's Diego Godin and Madrid's Marcelo, Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal.
Los Blancos almost monopolise the midfield area with the inclusions of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Isco Alarcon, complemented by the Bianconeri's creative engine Miralem Pjanic and Monaco's never-tiring Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Lastly, the UEFA Technical Observers put together a star-studded front line featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski, who combined to score 43 goals throughout the campaign.
