President of the United States, Mr. Barack Obama, has condemned the seizure of Chibok town by insurgents last week.

This was contained in a speech by a spokesperson of the White House, Ms. Jen Psaki.

Leadership reports:
Asked to confirm if he believed that the Nigerian army was not really managing to take control of the situation in the northeast, Obama declined comments but, said that the American military advisors that were sent out in the back end of April were still on the ground to assist in finding the girls.

“I believe there is still a presence there. I don’t have the exact specifics on the numbers on that front,” he added.

His words: “We are aware of the report. And while we are closely monitoring it, we don’t have confirmation of all the specifics that have been out there. We condemn these attacks in Chibok, a community that has already suffered too much.
