Governor Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State seemed much spirited about the use of social media at formal opening of the 44th meeting of the National Council on information in Oshogbo and said that social media must be used at different platforms in order to nurture the quality of governance and wriggle the already deteriorating system. He also convinced the delegates in order to peruse the goal of forcing the people to grasp the immense reach of social media in order to take part in the mainstream paramount activities taking place around the world.

Not only social media, the governor also emphasized that it is a matter of immense pleasure that most of the youth are developing the websites and vocalizing the thoughts around the world without waiting for things to happen for themselves. " There is now a need for meaningful connection between effective information and communication infrastructure and economic development", said Osun.

Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku also addressed the gathering and told the accomplishments of the Federal ministry in encompassing different paradigms of governance through use of Social media and IT. He also said in the meeting which was attended by commissioners, permanent secretaries and heads of agencies under the Ministry of Information that public information must deploy multiple resources in the modern information grooming era.
