Tonye Princewill, Rivers state gubernatorial aspirant of the Labour Party on Sunday said that Nyesom Wike, Gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP cannot win the governorship elections.
Wike who was formerly a member of the PDP said, ''Looking at PDP, I decided not to support Nyesom Wike simply because by my opinion, he cannot win. It is just pointless to me that if Wike loses and APC wins, we are sitting there and watching it happen.
''If you want to win an election, what Wike is doing is not how to win an election. You don’t alienate 20 plus governorship aspirants in a manner that will do nothing but offend them. If you truly want to win an election with PDP, that is not how to do it.
''Maybe the plan is to drive people from PDP so that the APC will win because I tell you, the only way APC will win is if PDP is disorganised and Wike has done absolutely everything in the book to ensure that PDP is disorganised.
''There is absolutely no reason why he cannot call everybody to a roundtable and do this thing differently. So if you just look at it with the naked eye, you ask why is he going to this extent to take the ticket? And if you ask yourself that question, maybe the answer you will come up with is that he is not planning to win the election.
''So, I don’t know, I can only speculate. But I will not sit back and allow the agenda, which I believe is alive and well to play out; so we will give Rivers people the option. So, if you don’t like PDP and what it is presenting, you don’t have to gravitate to APC; you can have an option.”
