Sports Osaze did not play to instruction against Iran - Keshi

In what looked like another brewing storm,Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has criticised Osaze Odemwingie in the aftermath of Nigeria's goalless draw against Iran on Monday.

There has been much criticism of the Super Eagles team,with the only player spared of the lashes being Odemwingie as many believed he got the team going when he was introduced.

But Keshi thinks otherwise,adding that Osaze did not play according to the mandate he was to operate with.

“The Osaze you are talking about didn’t do well. Osaze did not play to instruction and that affected the team” Keshi was quoted to have said after the game.

Osaze upon his introduction,added pace and worried the Iranians with his movements both on and off the ball.

The Stoke City player brought in liveliness when he was introduced in the match,bringing with him an urgency that was lacking before.

I want to believe Keshi was responding to a question and a Journo pointing out that Osaze changed the game. Keshi being who he is wouldn't want to eat the humble pie of admitting that Osaze was his game-changer,you know someone he almost didn't take to the World Cup. Keshi just wanted to burst the bubble,alas he shot himself on the foot.

Everything here is just ego-play. Osaze is loved by many Nigerians and it appears that Keshi can't stand sharing the affection with him because it could soon turn out to be all about him. You know,him stealing the headlines and all that; Keshi wants to remain "the big boss" that he is called.
