The Kaduna State Task Force on Illicit Drug on Friday said it had arrested more than 50 drug peddlers in Kaduna metropolis.
The Chairman of the committee and Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mohammed Jibrin, disclosed this in an interview in Kaduna.
The committee comprises representatives of the Nigerian Army, Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Air Force and the State Security Service (SSS).
The chairman said the suspects were arrested with 250kg of cannabis and 85kg of other psychotropic substances within the metropolis.
He said the committee would continue to raid black spots to fish out drug addicts and traffickers to rid the state of criminals.
He urged the public to assist the agency in the fight against drug abuse to reduce crime rate and other social vices in the state.
