Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, has placed a temporary ban on the movement of motorcyles and tricycles in the Khana and Gokhana LGAs of Rivers state ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit.
In a state broadcast on Wednesday, the governor said the ban would be effective between 6am to 6pm. He also called on the state's citizens to be peaceful and law-abiding during the president’s visit.
“The security agencies have been directed to enforce this ban and ensure full compliance,” he added.
President Buhari is visiting the state to launch the clean-up of Ogoniland and several other communities in the Niger Delta that have suffered environmental pollution due to oil exploration activities.
